You can purchase our products without a prescription. If you wish to file for insurance reimbursement please consult with your healthcare team to obtain a prescription and then submit your purchase for reimbursement to the insurance payer using the contact information on the insurance ID card. The prescription must be signed by a licensed health practitioner.
You do not need a prescription to order from CreditForCaring. Your healthcare provider offers you important guidance on what equipment and supplies are recommended, especially for customized devices like wheelchairs. You can read more on the requirements for ‘medically necessary’ equipment under Medicare Part B in our Resource section.
Many of the products are used each and every day but not considered to be ‘medically necessary’ under Medicare and other insurance companies. You pay for all of these items from your own pocket and often at higher retail prices. In fact, you can use your Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for these items and reduce your costs.

Juggling a job and caring for a loved one can be challenging, but it can be done with careful planning and communication. Let your employer know about your caregiving responsibilities and see if there are any flexible work arrangements. Make a list of the tasks that need to be done and set priorities. We recommend creating a schedule that allows you to balance your work and caregiving responsibilities.
In addition, you should seek help such as respite care and adult day care. Install smart technologies for fall detection, fire safety, use an automated pill dispenser, and use voice first devices with customized reminders for activities of daily living. Lastly, reach out to support groups or counseling services for caregivers to help you cope with the emotional and physical demands of caregiving.

Talk to your doctor or physical therapist about getting an at home fall risk assessment. Many chronic health conditions can increase the risk of falling. Therefore a home assessment enables a care professional to see where the hazards exist. Therapists and home health professionals can develop a care plan to increase your balance and teach you strategies to mitigate the risk of injury.
In fact, using the right medical equipment for transferring from sitting to standing and the right mobility aid to get around will increase your ability to perform many daily activities with confidence. Lastly, use our home safety check-up for a room-by-room evaluation.
Advance care planning is your chance to state your wishes when major medical events or accidents dramatically impacts your abilities and health. Think of this as the ‘what if’ planning that you share with trusted family and friends and your care team. The final document is call an advanced directive. It specifies what medical treatments a person would like to receive or refuse if they become incapacitated and unable to make their own decisions.
In fact, the most common types of advanced directives are living wills and durable power of attorney for healthcare. Lastly, this directive communicates your end-of-life care wishes and appoints a healthcare proxy. This person is also known as a medical power of attorney.
